What do you do when you meet someone for the first time?
Do you shake hands?
Do you smile?
You can help other people feel good about themselves and special if you greet them warmly.
Here are some tips for greeting a person with confidence:
Say ‘hallo’ clearly enough for the person you are greeting to hear you.
Look into the eyes of the person you are greeting and smile.
Offer your hand and shake his or her hand. (Give a firm handshake. A firm handshake does not mean that you squeeze the hand hard that it hurts the person. Make sure you don’t leave your hand lifeless in their hand.)
Then say, “It is nice to meet you”, “I am glad to meet you”, “It’s good to see you” or any other polite phrase you can come up with which is appropriate to the occassion.
