    1. Orientation Week:

The orientation week was organized to induct the new children into the school system. We congratulate the children, parents and staff members who participated in this exercise. We are happy to report that most children have responded well.

    1. Curriculum Week:

All parents are invited to attend the Curriculum Meeting next week as follows:

    Pre – Primary (Blues: Classes 5A, 5B, 6, 7A and 7B) Wednesday March 16, 2016 3:00pm
    Kindergarten (Greens: Classes 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B and 4C) Thursday March 17, 2016 3:00pm
    Nursery (Reds & Yellows): Classes 1D, 1P, 1C,1B, 1A, 2D & 2C) Friday March 18, 2016 3:00pm

As our counterparts in the implementation of the curriculum, we request you to spare some time and attend/participate in the KKA Curriculum Meeting of your child’s level.

    1. Open Week:

Since all children are in new classes with new teachers, this term’s open week will mainly focus on developing a close working relationship between the class teachers and the parents; with the purpose of helping the child to progress well in the new class. Details will be communicated.

    1. Sports Day:

Children will be given a chance to display some of the skills they will have achieved in the Physical Education lessons to their parents and the community at large. Details will be communicated later.

    1. Annual General Meeting & Membership Registration:

KKA Membership Registration is going on at the school front desk: New parents are filling membership registration forms while continuing parents are filling membership renewal forms. Only registered parents will be allowed to attend the AGM. Please do not miss the opportunity to make decisions for your child. Remember, the strength of KKA is in her Members. However the AGM date is pending approval of the Executive Committee.

    2. Arrival and Pick-up Time:

All children are expected to arrive at school by 8:00am. While children on the normal programme are picked between 12:30pm and 1:00pm, children on the Day Care programme can be picked any time between 1:00pm and 6:00pm. If a parent whose child is on the normal programme fails to pick the child by 1:00pm, will be asked to pay 5,000/= for the child’s lunch. A fine of 5,000/= is subjected to a parent who picks the child after 6:00pm.

    1. b)   Homework:

For the purpose of reinforcing class work and promoting child to parent bonding, the school gives homework to the children as follows:

    Blue Classes (5A, 5B, 6, 7A and 7B) Monday to Friday
    Green Classes (3A, 3B, 4A, 4B and 4C) Monday, Wednesday and Friday
    Red & Yellow Classes (1C, 1P, 1B, 1A, 2D and 2C, 1D) Friday

Parents are encouraged to supervise the children while doing the homework. This includes the school reading story books which are lent to children by the teachers. If a book gets lost or spoilt, a parent will be requested to replace it.

    1. c)   Clubs:

The School runs the following clubs; Aerobics, Christian Network, Cubs and Brownies, Swimming, Piano, Music, Dance and Drama for the children of Blue and Green. A new Club called Amazon operates during the school term holidays and Saturdays at a fee of 100,000/= and 50,000/= respectively. It recruits children of all the school levels including the school Alumni. For more inquiries, please contact the office.

    1. UNIFORMS:

All children have got most of their school uniforms. We however request you to bear with us because the sweaters are taken for labeling after picking the child’s size. Nevertheless some children have already got theirs. We request you to label the entire child’s property for easy identification.

We have closed admissions for 2016. Interested parents are kindly advised to submit their applications for 2017.

To avoid spreading communicable diseases, parents are kindly requested to keep sick children at home until full recovery.

Children who soil their school uniforms are given first aid uniforms which are supposed to be washed and returned within two days. We call upon parents who are still keeping the first aid clothes in their homes, to kindly return them.

For security purposes, every child is given a secret number which is used in case a parent wants to send an un-introduced person to pick the child. We therefore request, new parents to pick their children’s secret numbers as soon as possible from the Front Desk. No child will be given to a stranger.

For purposes of ensuring that each child is placed in the appropriate class, some children have been relocated. The Administration therefore requests for your cooperation in this matter.

The magazine will be out soon. It will be launched in the AGM or on the Sports Day. We apologize for the delay

We wish you a peaceful term. God bless you.
